I ran into a little bump w them, they parted ways with me towards the end, but that was my fault. My emotions got a little out of hand but to be clear, I didn't raise my voice, or use any expletives, I wasn't angry, I was very worried my attorney was not planning on providing the judge (who is not a medical doctor) with some type of medical literature to prove how common it is for bi polar patients to have serious insomnia and circadian rhythm problems. The panic was due to the fact that Stand alone insomnia cases lose every time, BUT proving the bi polar connection vastly improves the chances of a win.So, I was complaining about that to their assistant. I think I said-“it's common sense to know the importance of presenting medical literature to the judge proving the bipolar connection to my insomnia issues, …one doesn't have to be an attorney to know that”. “oopsy”. lol.I sent an apology email 5 minutes after that. But apologies don't always reverse comments that lean towards being disrespectful. Sometimes Words come out of my mouth in instant, often with no pre-thought when I'm excitable. And afterwards I say to myself “Did I just say that?” Or “what just came out of my mouth” 😮. Not good! lol. Almost every medical literature says the following about bi polar disorder. ……..“It is very common for people with bipolar disorder to struggle with controlling intense emotions, especially anger and irritability. Anger and severe irritability easily sit in the top three most disruptive symptoms with bi polar disease”.-Many a time I've lost emotional control so bad I would sit for an hour straight copying and pasting the same wrathful words w no breaks. It kind of freaks people out. It can take an hour to release the energy. Bi polar is the bane of my existence. (Sigh)Secondly, I think we've all heard of the phrase “ death by a thousand cuts"? I think I unknowingly tortured my attorney by “death by a thousand ChatGPT sourced questions.Im addicted to it because my experience with it is that it is shockingly accurate. And that degree of accuracy allows me to be my own advocate and have peace of mind that my case is going in the right direction and we're not missing anything.It was all extremely unfortunate because literally several hours after that emotional phone call, I got back on my ChatGPT horse again to see just how damaging it could be presenting a case without medical literature on my particular disease's connection to severe sleep disorders. During that process I discovered that the judges actually have a reference manual, akin to a blue book that details the connection between bipolar and severe insomnia and circadian rhythm dysfunctions.It's so weird to think that this concern I had that blew things up would have never even happened had I been informed that the judges have a manual that actually explains in detail the insomnia connection, it's severity, etc. And looking back I suppose I lacked common sense to realize that due to their years of experience, they've probably seen hundreds of bipolar cases and already know the sleep connection and that never crossed my mind till it was too late which I feel pretty stupid about also.I always admit my mistakes, I made several late in the process. But I was a little surprised it hit hard enough to actually drop the case cause I think it actually has a pretty good chance to win.I feel bad for them because of the 2 years of work they put into it and they were very honorable to release the fee hold so I could get another attorney to take my case to the finish line. In conclusion, honestly, I highly recommend them. I feel the process they have set up is very efficient. Had no problems. I'm just a head case and it's nothing new(sigh).

I would like to share my experence with Mr. Coats. I had 4 prior lawyers and I felt like a number with no real feelings from my 4 prior lawyers. I asked around for a lawyer that was the best at Federal Appeals and 2 different lawyers said that Mr Co,ates was top notch and reffered me to him. Mr Coats won my federal appeal for me which I understood was very difficult to do. So next was another hearing and the internal medicine doctor came accross to me as unsupportive and then the vocational expert was also. Mr Coats was on top of it. He noted an MRI and some additional information in 2014 that supported my claim. The vocational expert agreed with the information and that was when I became disabled. The Judge immediately agreed with that information and said we had won our case. Mr Coats had called me the day before and this case began in 2012, so he had hundreds if not a thousand pages to go through to have been that sharp in winning my case right on the spot. I promise if anyone is looking for an outstanding lawyer who is sincere, smart, thorough and knows the law, you would be silly not to hire Mr Coats. I dont write reviews, however, he was so outstanding and knowledgeable that I felt the need to let others know about Mr Coats. Christopher Coats from Coats and Todd law firm assisted me with my SSDI claim. It was a lengthy process however it was well worth it. The first time I met Mr. Todd was at a social security hearing after being denied 3 previous times. The hearing went better than both of us expected in front of a difficult Judge. They were the only ones able to handle the federal level with my disability case. When that fell through they managed to find the SSI side of my case and push that through to get me accepted for SSI. But even if that didn't work, they set me up to try again with themselves handling the SSI.They took care of everything they could, even filling out paperwork since I'm not able to write well anymore. I had a good experience with Coats & Todd. They won my case after my first disability hearing was decided unfavorably with a different law firm. I was referred to Coats and Todd by a family friend who had won their disability case with the help of Coats and Todd as I had done my initial disability application and was denied. I can't begin to thank Catherine Coats and her outstanding staff. This journey began over two years ago. I've worked everyday since I was 16 years old. Three years ago I had a life altering accident. I was searching for an attorney that could assist me in battle with SSA disability for 2 years. I had my case at the administrative judge hearing level and needed help fast. I filed for disability and was turned down. I was so weary of digging up old files and researching old recollections of misery and pain, I decided to just let a competent attorney have a try at it. When I filed with Coats and Todd, I had just put in a claim for disability. I had had two knee replacements in two years and retired at 62, because I was not healing as fast as I expected. I found out my case was complicated by my obesity, Type II Diabetes and partial paralysis on my right side due to an old recreational vehicle injury. They collected my doctors' names and numbers and went to town gathering up my records, surgery records, MRIs, etc. After I was turned down the first time, they very aggressively pursued my appeal.
