Jason Blair

Attorney

Jason Blair is a relatively recent Texas transplant. Born and raised in Evansville, Indiana, Jason attended Reitz Memorial Catholic High School and then earned his English degree in Bloomington at Indiana University. After graduating, he embarked on a half-hearted attempt to become a writer. Eventually bowing to reality, he attended Widener Law School in Wilmington, Delaware.

Upon graduation, Jason moved back to Indiana to find employment and be with his future wife, Stephenie. In Indianapolis, Jason first learned the ropes in the Disability field from Victor Kiplinger, a highly-principled sole practitioner with decades of experience advocating for disabled claimants and who acted as both employer and mentor. Apart from complicated legal strategies and the intricacies of administrative law, Jason also learned the value of helping others in a field that may not be particularly glamorous, but is of vital importance. This idea of service aligned perfectly with his Catholic upbringing, and since then Jason has always made every effort to understand his clients' perspectives on their problems and to sympathize with the difficult circumstances they must go through.

In 2011, Jason's fiancée then received the opportunity to attend the prestigious Physician Assistant Master's Program at the University of Texas Southwestern, located in Dallas. After just a few months of physical separation, Jason was able to find employment in Dallas continuing to represent disabled claimants. Initially intending that the Texas stint be a brief one while his wife completed school, Jason was pleasantly surprised to find that he actually enjoyed bone-dry, one-hundred degree days without a cloud in the sky. He was less surprised to find that he did not miss Indiana winters in the slightest. Jason then joined Coats & Todd in July 2013, and was thrilled to join a firm with enough talent and experience to actively influence Social Security policy rather than passively abide by their interpretations.

Having decided to make Texas their permanent home, Jason and Stephenie married in the summer of 2013 and their first child, Margot Jane, was born in January 2014.
