A native Texas, Robert Todd grew up in Freeport, the only son of a Dow Chemical electrician and a secretary. Robert's parents instilled in him the value of work, and they informed him early on that the only way he would appreciate his education was if he paid for it himself. Robert worked hard during high school and graduated with honors. He enrolled in Brazozport College and continued to work full time. During his first year in college, Roberts mother became very sick with cancer. He interrupted his college education to return home and assume the role of primary caretaker for his mother. Four months after returning home, his father died of a massive coronary and 30 days later, his mother died of cancer.

Dispite the devasation of losing both of his parents, Robert determined to return to school. He enrolled at Texas A&M University. While enrolled at A&M, his grandmother's health declined and Robert took on the twin responsibility of caring for his grandmother and completing his education.

Robert's experience led him to believe that he could serve others with a combination of intelligence, compassion and understanding. He felt the best way he could make a difference in people's lives was to obtain a law school degree and assist those in need as an attorney. He entered Southern Methodist Univeristy where he met his law partner who had similar concerns.

Robert's analytical skills and his desire to search for innovative approaches to the law have been instrumental in assisting his clients to get the best results available. Together with his law partner, Catherine Coats, Robert has dedicated his legal career to representing those with both medical and mental disabilities with the intelligence, compassion, and fervor that comes from one who personally understands their situation.
